Thai massage is a unique and ancient tradition. The people of Thailand have used its healing properties in everyday life, carefully refining their techniques over many centuries. This knowledge has been past down though countless generations as part of their culture. Originally, Thai massage was applied as pain relief thousands of years ago and has evolved into the art form used today.

All variations of Thai massage are built on the principle of ten "Sen" energy lines that run throughout the body. These lines are similar to the meridian lines practiced in Chinese acupuncture but more closely resemble the "nadis" of the Ayurvedic tradition of India.

Through a combination of acupressure, basic hatha yoga postures, and reflexology, the therapist applies deep compression techniques, gentle stretching, and pressure point activation to the major energy lines. The energy lines run from the feet to the head. A Thai massage therapists utilize their thumbs, palms, forearms, elbows, knees, feet and body weight to work all the major lines of the body.
